Abstract: This paper discusses the development and implementation of a QR code-based system for herbal flora
citation. It examines the technical aspects of generating and linking QR codes to robust databases, ensuring data
security, and maintaining the integrity of information. The study also evaluates user engagement and the
effectiveness of this technology in promoting awareness and education about biodiversity conservation.
Preliminary results indicate that the use of QR codes significantly enhances the visibility and accessibility of
information related to herbal flora. This method not only aids in scientific research by providing accurate and easily
retrievable data but also fosters a greater public interest in plant conservation. Additionally, it supports the efforts of
conservationists by streamlining data collection and monitoring of plant populations.
In the herbal garden we have 45 different plants, including shrubs (22), trees (13), herbs (9) and grass (1) etc.
The photographs of each herbal plant were captured using camera. The development of QR codes in herbal garden
includes research, education, awareness, and extension activities.
